Actor’s Bios

  • Matilda Allen (Scoundrel) is absolutely delighted to be back on stage with the Allegan Community Players. This is her second role after a 10-year hiatus, with her previous one being in ACP’s The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe in 2025.

Vanessa Berry (Ms. Berry-Berry) is both thrilled and mildly terrified to take on her first dialogue-heavy role. Most recently, she portrayed Aslan in The Lion, in ACP’s production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe—a powerful and noble lion who, notably, had no lines. Previous high school credits include Footloose, Tarzan, and A Christmas Carol, where she first fell in love with theatre. When she’s not memorizing monologues, Vanessa runs her mobile dog grooming business, Pawsitively Elegant, mediating disputes between much fluffier personalities. She is grateful to the cast, crew, and her family for their encouragement.

Kassidy Bright (Mary Pat) is delighted to be returning to ACP. Notably, she’s played Tillius in She Kills Monsters, Devin in They Came for Human Beans, and Mrs. Beaver in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe  during the past few years with ACP. She wants to thank her Mom for her love and support, her sibling Lane for acting alongside her, and her friends for cheering her on!

Lane Bright (Rover) is loving every minute of their third ACP adventure this year—especially getting to continue sharing the stage with their sister Kassidy in Spike Kunetz's Heroes and Scoundrels. After high-energy runs as Conrad in They Came for Human Beans and as Tumnus in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in 2025, Lane thrives on bringing quotable, larger-than-life characters to the stage. Special thanks to Kassidy for helping every step of the way; to Spike for his guidance and shared enthusiasm; to the talented friends in the cast and crew (onstage and behind the scenes); and to the wonderful audience and the friends there too.

Charles Clark II (Principal Yoder) is a native Texan, transplanted to the quaint town of Allegan by fate. This is his first stage production since high school.  He knits at rehearsals and backstage and always has his knitting nearby.  Charles wants everyone to become a member of the ACP and keep theater in Allegan alive!  If you see him around town - say hi!

David Clement-Horton (Mr. Goodman) is an English actor, singer and multi-instrumentalist. He has performed in plays, musicals, TV, movies, commercials and radio from an early age as an actor, voice-over artist, and behind-the-scenes crew. David's love of theatre started in school and has stayed with him ever since. This is his third ACP production. Although David is well known in the UK, he's only been in Allegan for less than a year, so if you hear an English accent, it's probably him.

Matt Decker (Protector) is excited to make his stage debut in the role of Protector. Matt lives in Wayland with his wife and two daughters, who have been his biggest supporters throughout this new adventure. While this is his first time performing in a play, he has thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of stepping into the larger-than-life world of Heroes and Scoundrels. Matt is grateful to Spike as well as the rest of the cast and crew for making this experience both welcoming and unforgettable, and he hopes you enjoy the show as much as he has enjoyed being part of it.

Whitney Ehresman (Gianna) is thrilled to be in Heroes & Scoundrels. Most recently, she appeared as the White Witch in ACP’s production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe  in 2025. Whitney has performed in several other ACP productions, including Almost, Maine, the One Act Festivals, She Kills Monsters, and James and the Giant Peach. After spending her high school years in drama club, musical ensembles, and improv, she is grateful to be back on stage and part of such a welcoming theatre community.

Mason Haas (Keenan Shepard) has been on stage for over a decade, playing everyone from the awkwardly charming Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors) to the stuck up Chip (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). When he’s not acting, he’s rolling dice in epic Dungeons & Dragons campaigns with friends—because why face tragedy on stage when you can face dragons off it? Mason hopes he can bring his character to life in a way that you all can enjoy!

Lindsay Kruse (Scoundrel) is happy to be back on stage and joining the amazing cast of Heroes and Scoundrels! Her previous appearances with ACP include She Kill Monsters, Theater in the Park and the 2025 One Acts Festival. She also took a turn behind the scenes as Assistant Director/Stage Manager for last summer's production of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Lindsay would like to thank her husband Ryan for his continuous support in her theatrical endeavors.

Amy Landsberg (Ms. Handley) is delighted to join the cast of Heroes and Scoundrels! Though her last traditional stage role was in middle school, she brings years of live-action roleplay experience: she has been choosing between heroes and scoundrels for decades! Amy is an Illinois native and currently lives in Plainwell.  She and her son both participate in Scouts and enjoy the outdoors just as much as the indoors!  Amy would like to thank her friends and family for their encouragement, and especially her son, Elba, whose enthusiastic support (and willingness to listen to lines and make his own dinners) has helped make this adventure possible.

Isabelle McGowen (Precious) is absolutely thrilled to be a part of this telling of what it means to be a hero. She made her acting debut in Allegan High’s production of The Curious Savage as Fairy-May in her freshman year. She most recently played Girl Six in Girls on the Boat her junior year. She would like to thank the director for giving her a chance to prove herself as a young actress and her family for supporting her every step of the way.

Lacey Morton (Midge) is an Allegan Native and has been many ACP productions,  her most recent projects playing Birdie in The Bird Day Party and Keliope the Dark Elf in She Kills Monsters. She is very passionate about being creative whether it’s being on stage, painting, doing arts and crafts with friends, or creating elaborate nail art at Lacey’s Nail Studio. In her free time she enjoys being in nature, reading and spending time with her husband John and their three children.

Xavier Paris (Spencer) is a local Allegan actor. His stage debut was in ACP’s production of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, in 2025 where he played Peter. He is pleased to be working with supportive actors in Heroes and Scoundrels.

Chloe Schans (Coach Byler) Heroes and Scoundrels is Chloe’s first production with the Allegan Community Players, but she has been acting in plays and musicals since she was a student at Allegan High School. Most recently, she participated in N.E.R.D.S (Not Even Really Drama Students) productions at the University of Michigan, from which she graduated with a BFA in Art & Design in 2024. Chloe can be found painting, drawing comics, making music, or exploring antique stores in her free time. She is thrilled to be performing with the Allegan Community Players and would like to thank her family, friends, and broader community for their encouragement.

Izaak Schans (Hero) Heroes and Scoundrels is Izaak’s debut production with ACP, though he has previously enjoyed acting in high-school theater productions. Izaak Schans is a lifelong Allegan resident who enjoys painting, film-making, drawing comic books, making music, watching B-horror movies, and most recently, clowning. Izaak is currently in pre-production for his first low budget feature film and is looking forward to working more with the artistic community in Allegan. (He’s also currently looking for a drummer for his band.)

Michael Troub (Bradley, Mr. Goodman) is returning to the stage for his third production with Allegan Community Players. He made his ACP debut in She Kills Monsters playing Chuck and brought the character Rob to life in The Bird Day Party. Michael is very excited to be a part of Heroes and Scoundrels and working with an excellent ensemble of other actors. Favorite roles include Nick in Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf and Count Tyrone Rugen in The Princess Bride. Michael plays guitar and enjoys cooking for his family even though his children refuse to eat it. His favorite thing about performing is making friends and putting on a new identity. Thanks to his wife Maria and children Gavin and Cecelia.

Wyatt Tussey (Jordan) is thrilled to be returning to the stage for his second production with the Allegan Community Players. He was previously seen on the ACP stage in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Wyatt’s passion for theater began in high school, where he appeared in a variety of productions, including: The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Crucible, Our Town, and Emma. He would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his friends and family for their unwavering support and for always encouraging his love of the performing arts.

Spike Kunetz (Playwright, Director) A veteran actor, playwright, and director from the Chicago theater scene, Spike has penned numerous plays just for ACP including The Bird Day Party, Soccer Mom-Mom, They Came for Human Beans, and A Lion on the Lam. He has performed in many shows around Chicago, and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. He taught comedy writing and improvisation at Chicago’s famed The Second City comedy theater for 20 years.
